Accessibility Statement

Last updated: to be confirmed before launch.

My commitment

I want everyone to be able to use the Healing Realms website, whatever device or assistive technology they use. The site has been built with accessibility in mind and I keep working to improve it.

The standard I aim for

I aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA. This is a widely recognised standard for making websites usable by as many people as possible.

What I have done

To work towards that standard, the site has been built with the following in mind:

  • semantic HTML, so the page structure makes sense to screen readers and other assistive technology
  • text descriptions (alt text) for images that carry meaning
  • full keyboard navigation, so you can use the site without a mouse
  • a visible focus indicator, so you can see where you are when using a keyboard
  • text and background colours chosen to meet AA contrast levels for readability
  • support for reduced motion, so animations are limited if your device is set to reduce them
  • a skip link, so keyboard and screen reader users can jump straight to the main content
  • clearly labelled form fields on the contact form

Telling me about a problem

If you find any part of this website hard to use, or if you come across an accessibility problem, please let me know. Your feedback genuinely helps me improve. The easiest way to reach me is through the contact form. Please tell me which page you were on and what the problem was, and I will do my best to help and to put it right.

Reviewing this statement

I review this statement and check the site for accessibility from time to time, and I update it when things change.
